Local Moving: A move starting and ending when the total number of kms involved is less than 120 kms. There is a 2 hour minimum charge for moving time and a 1 hour charge, at the same contracted, hourly rate, for travel time. Hourly charges vary depending on time of year and holidays. Moving Time. The moving time consists of the sum of hours from the time we arrive until we depart at the end of the job, minus breaks and/or lunchs. For example: You hire a 2 man moving crew at $85/hour. Your move starts in Kanata at 9:00am. Your crew takes a half hour lunch and finishes unloading at your new home in Orleans at 2:30pm. The elapsed moving time is 5.5 hours, minus a half hour for lunch, equaling 5 hours. Add one hour for travel time and your bill totals 6 hours x $85 = $510 + GST (5%) = $535.25.

Travel Time. The travel time is a separate charge from the move itself. It covers a half hour for our crew to travel from our office to your initial pick-up location and a half hour from your final destination point back to our office.
